Another Loan Spell for Kalvin Phillips
Phillips hasn’t had much luck at Manchester City since his move from Leeds United in summer 2022. He’s only made 32 senior appearances for the club. That’s not many for someone part of their treble-winning squad in 2022-23.
And he’s barely featured this season. Just one first-team appearance in 2026-27. You can see why a move was on the cards. His contract with City still runs until 2028.
That’s over two years remaining even after this loan ends. So, they’ve got decisions to make down the line.
This isn’t his first time out on loan either. He’s had two previous spells away from City. One at West Ham United, another at Ipswich Town.
It seems he’s been trying to find a rhythm, a place to play regularly. But it just hasn’t clicked yet.
